Curtains are significant both regarding their function and physical appearance, and the following are some of the major reasons why curtains have become vital to the overall state of your house.

Enhance Your Privacy

One of the major reasons that people use curtains is to maintain a room’s privacy. Installation of heavy or blockout curtains in your office or home, can provide full privacy from outside view. We understand that full blockout is not always desired and as such, can cater to this need with sheer and lightweight curtains that are semi-private to allow an outgoing view, whilst minimising the ability to look inside.

Regulates Natural Light

There is a lot to be said for the benefits of natural light, such as the boost in vitamin D for the body, assisting with the general overall mood and warding off seasonal depression, improving sleep, and reducing the health risks of fluorescent lighting. The correct set of curtains should be able to functionally regulate the amount of natural light that is allowed to enter a room. By ensuring the correct material, weight and style of curtains, we are able to assist you with the appropriate curtain solution that allow you to adjust the light according to your comfort level.

Temperature control

Together with regulating light, a related benefit is that Curtains help you insulate your windows. In colder seasons, thick curtains are one of the main ways to protect your house from losing heat through the windows. Curtains with a thermal lining are a relatively cheap option when it comes to guarding against such heat loss. Conversely, during the warmer months, curtains are an excellent way to reduce heat entering your home from the outside sun, and therefore reduces the load on your cooling system. Both of these functions in turn assist in lowering the heating and cooling costs for your home or commercial space.

Aesthetics

Curtains can effectively add to the aesthetic of any room you place them in. So much so that they can actually be the focal point of your space. Alternatively, they can be used more subtly to complement and enhance your existing décor. There are a multitude of options available in terms of colours, textures and design options, depending on your functional requirement and personal taste. They can create a soft and light feel by letting natural light filter into a room and blend into your surroundings with natural and complimentary colours. They can also create a warn and safe environment but blocking out natural light and providing a secure barrier to the external elements.

Cost-effectiveness

Window coverings traditionally can be quite expensive. This is usually due to bespoke solutions having to be manufactured to exact specifications and measurements. In contrast, mass produced, off-the-rack solutions are comparatively less expensive. However, with the multitude of options available, there is absolutely a solution that will fit into any budget.
